Remove the unwanted fat and change your life
Liposuction procedure involves removal of excess unwanted fat from certain specific areas of body such as upper arms, trunk, abdomen, thighs, hips, buttock, chin, knees and occasionally ankles and calves.
Liposuction procedure is also known as lipoplasty or liposculpture. This procedure is not used for weight loss purposes but can remove some localised deposits of fats that cannot be reduced by diet or exercise. This procedure can be performed for body contouring and also be combined with other procedures such as facelift, abdominoplasty or thigh lift. Such combination is used to reduce the excess loose skin is tightened.
The best people to undergo liposuction are those who have a normal body weight but an excess of fat in certain areas of body. This procedure is normally not recommended for people with a heart or lung problem and poor blood circulation.
Technique of liposuction
A variety of techniques are used to remove the fat underneath the skin. Basically, fat cells are broken down by a mechanical force or by blasting with a laser or ultrasound energy probe or fat cells are usually liquefied by water jet.
- Suction assisted liposuction (SAL)
This procedure is performed by using a hollow metal rod (cannula) which is inserted through a small incision and is passed back and forth through fatty deposits.
- Power assisted liposuction (PAL)
This is an advanced suction assisted liposuction in which cannula is vibrated back and forth making liposuction procedure quicker and smoother. This procedure also reduces tissue trauma and so the swelling and bruising created is less.
- In Laser assisted liposuction (LAL)
The fat cells are blasted with a probe and the liquefied fat is removed by lymphatic and venous circulation and get metabolised in the liver.
- Water Jet assisted liposuction (WAL)
This is a modern method of removing localised fat deposits. In this method water jet (spray) breaks down the fat cells with a very minimal bruising and swelling.
- Radiofrequency assisted liposuction (RFAL)
In this technique fat cells are broken down by regulated heat energy. The liquefied fat is then removed either by suction or power assisted liposuction.
Liposuction procedure is carried out under local or general anaesthesia. During liposuction tumescent cocktail of Adrenaline is used which prevents bleeding into areas of fatty deposits. This type of tumescent infiltration technique can reduce the discomfort during the post-operative period.
The swelling, bruising and pain during the post-operative period can be reduced by using pressure garments and lymphatic massage therapy. They also help to heal and mature the scars.
Life after liposuction
It is necessary to maintain the deposition of body fat after the procedure by eating healthy balanced diet and not exceeding the calorie limit.
In order to achieve the best results for liposuction it is necessary to undergo some sort of physical exercise. Patient should be stable both physically and psychologically and should also except realistic expectations. Age is usually not a severe criteria but young people achieve better results than older ones.
Liposuction procedure can enhance body appearance and can boost self-confidence. However, it cannot change the look completely. It is recommended that before undergoing liposuction procedure it is necessary to be clear about your expectations and discuss them with your cosmetic surgeon.
It is possible to achieve a healthy and stable appearance with changes in lifestyle, good diet, proper exercise and with the help of body contouring procedures.

During an initial consultation, your cosmetic surgeon will evaluate your general and psychological health. They will also look for all the areas of fat deposits to be treated and assess the condition of your skin. Then, the surgeon will be able to advise you which type of body contouring will the best for you.
It is necessary to avoid any aspirin or aspirin-containing drugs for at least two weeks before the surgery. If there is any skin infection before the procedure it is better to postpone the procedure.
Liposuction procedure can be carried in a hospital as a day case procedure under general anaesthesia. If excess of fat needs to be removed from various parts then an overnight stay is usually recommended.
It is possible to have some fluid drainage from the incision. A compression garment needs to be worn over the treated area in order to reduce the swelling for at least four weeks. Painkillers and antibiotics will be prescribed to you for reducing the swelling and for preventing any likelihood of acquiring infection.
The change in shape of your body will be noticeable soon after the procedure. However, the actual noticeable difference will become more prominent three weeks after the surgery when the swelling has reduced. The final contour of the body will be visible after three months when the swelling has completely disappeared.
The vast majority of people undergoing this procedure do not have any complications. However, some of the less certain complications include bleeding, infection, scarring, change in skin sensation, skin discolouration, skin contour irregularities, asymmetry, seroma, deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, overcorrection and undercorrection.

LIPOSUCTION TESTIMONIALS AND VIDEOS
Excellent care provided by MACS clinic
I was referred to Dr Vadodaria after weight loss. During my meeting with him he made me feel very relaxed and completely at ease. He listened and understood how I was feeling which in my opinion is very rare. We decided that I would have a lower body lift, thigh lift and upper arm lift and although I was excited I was still very nervous. The operations were split into two. The first was the lower body lift. Dr Vadodaria explained everything to me again before theatre; surgery went without any problems, although a little pain after this was controlled with pain killers. The nurses were kind and supportive and nothing was too much trouble for them. With the first surgery going so well, I had no fears about getting thigh and arm lift and again no problems. If I ever need surgery again, Dr Vadodaria would be my preferred surgeon not only for his manner but his quality of work. I would recommend him to family and friends. I can’t thank him or his staff enough for giving me a new life. I am forever grateful. Thank you so much.
I achieved a perfect body contour by liposuction surgery.
Dear Mr. Vadodaria, First of all thank you for taking such good care of me in your kind and professional manner. My experience is this. From my first consultation at MACS clinic you were extremely thorough and professional both in the examination and explanation of the surgery. We discussed my expectations and I was confident throughout of a successful outcome, even as you explained I was one of your eldest patients assuring me you would not perform the surgery if you were not confident. The consultation was not rushed at any time which is important and reassuring. My operation was performed at a day patient and I felt relaxed from the minute I arrived. I met my anaesthetist and Mr. Vadodaria prior to surgery and all aspect of the surgery was explained. Both during and after surgery I felt no pain and was constantly reassured throughout. I was able to go home after a rest and a snack. During the next few days I rested and walked as exercise, which was recommended. I noticed results immediately and after approximately a week felt elated with the results. I am delighted with my surgery and my choice of surgeon. Every day I see an improvement. Thank you so much,
